Cigarettes

He paid for me a dollar

and pulled me out by the collar.

His first touch was gentle,

but the next made no promise.

He passed me around amongst his friends

and used me up till I was no more.

They then pulled on another

and rubbed me deep into the dirt.

You ask of me, who we are?

We are, but toys merely with burnt souls.
